WJAA Nostalgia

This is a fun page to look back at the past and to see some of the kids who are now WJAA Parents in their glory days.

 In the descriptions of these pictures. We have tried to recognize those who have been instrumental in the development of the WJAA organization. If we missed anyone in the comments, please email [email protected] with the description of the photo and who we missed and why. Some people are featured in multiple photos but only mentioned in some to make for easier reading. So check them all. 



1983 5th Grade Boys Basketball Team. Coached By Roger Elam. League and Tournament Champs from 5th - 7th grades.  
Future WJAA President Brandon Lindsey Bottom left. This team also featured Chris Jones (middle row 2nd from left), son of Elmer Jones who along with Tom Lefker started the WJAA Basketball Program and Adam Adkins(middle row far left) Who's dad Morris Adkins was on the original development Committee at WJAA. Also pictured is Kenny Garrison, Williamsburg High School Sports Hall Of Famer.



1990's Softball Team
Sponsored by Lykins. Coach Sue Cummins First WJAA Treasurer. 




WJAA Cheer Squad. Graduating class of 1991.
Williamsburg Teacher and WHS Athletic Hall Of Famer Tara Nutt was the mascot.  Teacher Christi Bach far right. 


First WJAA Soccer Team!
The first teams played on a field located on Elston HockStock Road. Fields looking a little rough.
Mike Pope Coach (Mike was one of the many founders of WJAA). This team features 2 future WJAA Presidents Jeff Cummins (front right) & Brandon Lindsey (front second from left).Also featured Dr. Paul Russell's Son Jerry. (Paul Started the Soccer program at WJAA). Also in the Photo, Travis Pope. He and his Family have done so much at WJAA including their continued support of the Haunted Woods. 
 .

Mid 1980's. This is one of WJAA's First girls Basketball teams.

1986 Girls Softball Team.
Williamsburg Teacher Christi Bach (back row 2nd from right) She and her husband Troy (One Time WJAA VP) have done a lot for the organization. Back row 2nd from left April Graybill she and her husband Chad were heavily involved in WJAA and Chad did a lot of work on the park.  Also two members of the Lung Family. A Family instrumental at WJAA. 


The award for most hairspray used in a team photo goes to this WJAA team.

John Maklem Coach. Chad Graybill front row second from the left and his family have done a lot of work at the WJAA Complex.  



Girls Soccer Team 1989
Featured a girl who would later become the First WJAA Woman President Tracy Coffey. (just right of the soccer ball)





Tom Lefker (First WJAA President) Coached this baseball team.
Former WJAA President, Jeff Cummins back right. This team features kids like (Travis Pope, Ben Jones, Mike Jones, Chris Collier, Jason Lefker and Jeff) who's parents were among the many the founders of WJAA. See the Our History Page for details.

 






One of WJAA's first ever Softball Teams. This Team was named after and coached by Jim Addison. Jim was the first groundskeeper at WJAA. Volunteering many hours to keep the fields mowed and the park looking beautiful. Sharon Benjamin, Evan Benjamin, Gina Ring Hoover, Nicole Harvey Beinke, Melissa Arwine Honsaker, Stephanie Carter Jones, Brandy Cabarcas, Dawn Baumgardner and Beth Addison Padgett.
