Hello WJAA Members-
I just wanted to send everyone a note to go over the highlights of last
weeks meeting.
First of all the turnout was awesome. I cannot tell you how important it
was to see so many people at the meeting. It was a great show of support
for our organization as well as fresh outlook on our future.
· Basketball Skills & Drills began Saturday with an awesome turnout. Thanks
to Travis and Trevor for coming up with the idea to enact this program
immediately. I would like to also thank all of the coaches who assisted.
The great turnout definitely validates the need for such a program in our
community.
· Flag football proposed by Tim Bogan has had a great deal of support from
the membership. Tim is currently researching costs of startup. He is
expecting to have all specifics finalized in the coming months to be voted
on by our membership.
· Lawn care quotes are coming in. If anyone knows of a lawn care provider
that would like to submit a bid have them contact me. We will be voting on
this at the Feb. meeting.
· Kids glove dates were set for May 28th & 29th 100 tickets for each. Don't
forget to set one of these dates aside so that you and your family can
attend.
· Softball End of Season Tournament will be starting the week of June 20th.
Kids Day was set for June 14th and Haunted Woods for October 16th-18th.
These are our fund raisers for the year, we will need as many volunteers as
possible for all so please set these dates aside.
· Jeff Cummins is working on the budget for 08' we will be voting on this in
Feb. and we should have a good feel for were we expect to be financially to
set some projects in motion.
I hope all that attended felt as good about our future as I do. I truly
believe that we have a membership that is willing to provide our community
with athletic programs that every child can get involved in, while always
instilling new and fresh ideas to build towards the future.
I hope to see all of you at our next Meeting Tuesday February 26th, if not
sooner---
