Meeting Minutes

Motion to open meeting 7:30 PM T. Lefker, second Jeff Cummins

Secretary – Meeting minutes read from November 24^th meeting.  Motion to accept Bach second Foster

A vote was taken via text for replacing the windows in the gym for the cost of $1,295.05,   11 – Yes, 0 - No .

Treasurer – Total account balance - $29,935.30 (750.00 from concessions & 29,185.30 from the business account).  The largest expense we have had is the windows in the gym for $1,295.04.  We owe 20,016.87 on the line of credit.  We will go off of last years’ budget for 2010.  Chad Graybill brought us estimates for sewer and bathrooms at the ball fields.  For February’s meeting we will bring 2010 goals and we will decide whether or not to pay off our loan.

Basketball – Tournaments are set for 2/27 & 3/6.   Fourth grade girls will be held at home and we could use help running those tournaments. 

 A vote was taken electing Cheerleading to run concession during tournaments – 6 -yes -  2- No.

We are looking to restructure Jr Basketball next year, if anybody has any ideas that would be great. And we also need a new head of Jr Basketball.

Thanks to Walt Spurlock for the windows in the gym.  And the school gave us a 3 year agreement for the use of the gym in return.

The 4^th, 5^th & 6^th grade girls will have an appreciation night at the new high school.

Lowell Smith winterized the concession.

Soccer – Link on website to CCSA spring soccer.  WB is cheaper and you get a jersey.  Spring is small sided and starts April 1^st.  A flyer is out for new soccer camp and it is broken down by age.

Softball – Face mask for pitcher U6-U14.  All coaches and umpires must attend one of the umpire clinics, one will be held at burg.  League fees are $175 per team.  End of season tournaments will be seeded.  We will have one week to make up a game or the home team forfeits.

Volleyball – NA

Baseball – Currently has 1 Pre-school T-ball, 1 Kindergarten T-ball, 1 D-Instructional, 2 D –Junior, 2 D-Senior, 1 C-Junior, 1 B-Junior, & 1 A Senior teams for 2010.

Need another round of flyers for pre-school and kindergarten.

All coaches have been forwarded their rosters and are reaching out to their players from last year to get them signed up.

The county meeting is February 3^rd.  I will get player contracts at the meeting and will schedule a baseball meeting to hand out to all the coaches.

We need to verify when we can start practicing in the gym.  Once we know that date Tommy and I can start scheduling practices.

We are going to have our own umpire clinic again this year.  This will be sometime toward the end of March or early April.  This will be mandatory for all new WJAA baseball coaches to attend.  Scott can we get the town hall again?

Backstop windscreens are being quoted by the local company that made Goshen’s.  I will have that quote later this week.  That should save us shipping cost.  I will email all board members with the quotes as soon as I get them back.  Turn around time is two weeks right now so we have time to order these.
