WJAA October 06 Meeting Minutes.

 

Attendance:  Walt Spurlock, Michelle Fisher, Kristy Fishback, Tom Fishback, Dave Varney, Travis Fisher, Mike Poole, Troy Bach, David Hollins, Angie Walls, Jim Wetzel, Mike Pope, Paul Keith, Jim Jermer, Karen Pachicano, Kevin Steward, Josh Jordan, Tracy Coffey, Stephanie Williford, Tim Meadors, Betty Meadors

Open Meeting @ 7:37 p.m.

Secretary report:  August and September minutes handed out and approved by Dave Varney 2nd by Troy Bach.

Treasurer’s report:  Beginning Balance of $6,149.25.  Deposited $25 (concessions).  Expenses of $4,389.12.  Balance as of October 24 is $1,760.13.  Motion to except by Mike Pope and 2nd by Tom Fishback.

Committee reports:

Concession:      3 more U6 games left to play.  After this weekend the concession will be closed up.

Softball:  Nothing new to report.

Soccer:  We had several teams place in the league.  The brackets aren’t finished for Tournaments.

Baseball:  We still owe some people money for umpires.  About $75 to $80 still owed for tournaments.

Basketball:  A motion to use the Metro Refs like we did last year was made by Paul Keith and 2nd by Jim Jermer.  Passed with 10 for and 0 against.

Haunted Woods:  Made $9,314.55 in ticket sales and $62.36 in the voting booth for a total of $9,376.91.  The Maze got 1st place, Tunnel 2nd place, and the Dunking Booth 3rd place.  Concessions made a total of $1,096.80.  One sheriff was paid by cash and the other was given a check.  Dave’s budget was $2,400 and he used $1,112.00.  Received $475 for sponsors for the t-shirts.  We will need to repair the field that was damaged during the haunted woods with the profits.

President Report:  Nominations were taken last month for the election this month.  Tracy handed out the duties for the positions to those people nominated.  She will make an amendment to the bylaws for the changes below.

Exec. Vice Pres.-Passed 13 for/0 against

Secretary-Passed 13 for/0 against

Treasurer-Passed 11 for/0 against

Concessions-Passed 12 for/0 against

VP of each sport-Passed 14 for/0 against

Discussed having a budget committee possibly made up of the executive board members. 

Old Business:  

Motion made last month by Dave Varney for the signing of checks to go back to the way it was voted in Nov 2005 instead of having two signatures required on check  was passed 9 for/0 against.  The way it was before was all checks written over and above the regular expenses have to have a written approval by the President.

 

New Business

Mary Vice brought decals to show us.  These can be used as a fundraiser in the future.

Voting took place this month.  The following people will hold the positions for the next year.

We had a tie for Treasurer and had to vote again.  Still had a tie, so we had the candidates give a speech and voted again.  We still had a tie so we called the other four people on the list able to vote.  We finally got an answer from all four and Dave Hollins was voted in.

Troy Bach made a motion to carry the voting over to next month for Secretary and President.  Jim Jermer 2nd.

 

 Motion to adjourn meeting at 10:00 p.m. by Dave  2nd by Kristy Fishback.

Next meeting was scheduled for Nov 28th at 7:30 p.m. at Church
