WJAA November Meeting Minutes November 22, 2005 Attendance: David Hollins, Jim Jermer, Deron Dean, Mike Pope, Tracy Coffey, Kristy Fishback, Monte Fitzpatrick, Mike Poole, Paul Keith, Dave Varney, Angie Walls Open Meeting @ 7:30 p.m. Motion to accept by Jim Jermer, 2nd by Kristy Fishback Reports: Secretary report: October minutes read. Motion to accept by Paul Keith, 2nd by Mike Poole Treasurer’s report: Please See Paul for amounts. 17 Payments left on Tractor. Committee reports: Soccer: Kim Imbus’s team placed 1st in tournaments. Goals were taken down and put away. Need new goals for U7/U8 field. Jim Jermer is getting prices. Basketball: There will be 60 home games. The doors will open at 8:30 on Saturdays. Will schedule concessions with Kristy Fishback. The game schedules have be received. Request to block off the scoring table(3 feet). Need check for $150 for Metro Officials. Admin fee for home games only. The cost is $16 per Ref per game. Gate fee for games is $1.00, tournaments will be $2.00. The tournament will be a double elimination. The tournaments will be held at Hamersville for 6th grade boys, Felicity for 6th grade girls, Batavia for 5th grade boys, Bethel for 5th grade girls, Fayetteville for 4th grade boys, CNE for 4th grade girls. Finals will be held in Williamsburg. Need to ask to use the New High school for Tournaments. Baseball: McGuire/WG fields closed. Teams established there can go wherever they want to play. Sign-up dates will be the middle of January around the 21st from 1-4. Softball: Bylaw meeting will be after Christmas. Midseason tournaments will be May 19, 20, 21. The tournaments will be held at Williamsburg for U7/U8, Batavia for U9/U10, NR for U11/U12, Mt. Orab for U13/U14. The tournaments for U15 and up and tee-ball will be held at Bethel on June 9, 10, 11. Umpires and Coaches are not familiar with protest procedures. Suggested that we have a clinic on how to protest correctly. Balls from Monte M. were complained about too soft. County is wanting us to buy diamond balls that cost $42.00 a dozen. Decided that we will buy only if County requires us to. We need a coach for the U13 Softball team maybe. Concession: Slush Puppy and Pepsi came out to winterize. Pipes are still need to be blown off. Water and phone has been turned off. The water heater needs to be drained and shut off. Coaches need to be reminded to be at the concession on scheduled date. We are down to one freezer instead of two. Old Business: Discussed having Haunted Woods for 2 weekends next year. Will discuss with people working it before we vote. Dave will contact the people that worked this year. New Business: Will Vote on Haunted Woods being 2 weekends in January. Kid Glove ticket equipment order that was placed last summer. This should go to Jim Jermer first in the future. Mike Poole will give last years order to Jim. We need to discuss ways to sell tickets this year. Information comes out in February, we will discuss in January. Motion for registration fees to be raised to $65 for one and $120 for 2 or more was accepted 5/0. Motion for money to be due at signups, if not paid at signups there is bill a $10 late charge was accepted 9/0. Need to place ads for signups in Community Journal and Adelphia. Motion to get new U7/U8 soccer goals($1500 set) was accepted 9/0. Addition to bylaw fro Basketball ref to minimum age of 15 accepted 8/1. Jim Jermer will purchase dead bolt for barn doors. Tracy will talk to Cinergy about getting fence on the side by the electric company. Bylaw proposal to have a VP fundraiser as a voted in position will be voted on next month. Addition of Bylaw F9; A manager/coach will be responsible of putting up and taking down equipment or face a 2 week suspension/forfeit coaching position will be voted on next meeting. Bylaw Change: Q. Special Rules 9. No new item(s) (except everyday item expenses) will be purchased by the WJAA without a prior authorization through the organization. Must be voted on at Meeting. In case of an emergency situation….where a decision must be made in between meetings it will be decided by the Executive Board members, which consist of majority rule of all positions voted in. Was voted on and passed 9/0. Proposed Bylaw Change: Motion to adjourn meeting at 9:35 p.m. by Kristi Fishback, 2nd by Paul Keith. Next meeting was scheduled for January 24, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. at Church. |
