WJAA Meeting Minutes

January 24, 2006

 Attendance:    Jim Jermer, Mike Pope, Tracy Coffey, Tom Fishback, Monte Fitzpatrick, Mike Poole, Paul Keith, Dave Varney, Angie Walls, David Little, Travis Fisher, Scott Royer, Jamie Wolfe, TJ Spencer

Open Meeting @ 7:30 p.m.  Motion to accept by Paul Keith, 2nd by Angie Walls

Secretary report:   October minutes read.  Motion to accept by Dave Varney, 2nd by Mike Poole

Treasurer’s report:    Balance as of January of (please see Paul for $$) accepted by Jim Jermer, 2nd by Mike Poole.  15 Payments left on Tractor.

Committee reports:

Softball: Bylaw changes for SOSLI are recorded-Can find changes on the SOSLI website.  Rosters have to be turned in by March 17.  The scheduling meeting is March 25.  If you would like changes let Mike know.  The first game will be July 1st.  Teal Town resigned from league picked up Loveland.  Signups weren’t good set another signup date for February 11 at the old high school gym from 1-4.

Soccer:  Team formations might change.  Tracy will let us know after February meeting.

Baseball:  Mike doesn’t need another signup but will allow kids to signup at the softball signups. 

Basketball:   Tournaments will be held March 11 & 12.  It cost $200 to rent the gym but we might not have to pay for it.

Concession:  Water heater taken has been taken care of.  Lines still need to be blown out.  The guy that was supposed to do it hasn’t yet.  If anyone knows of a plumber that can do it let Tom know.  We still have a leak in the right bathroom sink.  We can’t open up with it not fixed.  We need to have it fixed by the end of march/beginning of April.  Tracy told TOM to get quotes to get it fixed.

Old Business:   Dave Hollins will talk to people about Haunted woods being two weekends.  They want to know if we can have some kind of security for people’s property in the woods.  He wants to get a committee together every year.  A vote for having the haunted woods two weeks was tabled until next month.  Fees for Soccer have been raised to $65 for one child and $120 for two and a late fee of $10 was added if not paid by deadline.  Bylaw for $10 late fee should have been a bylaw addition instead of new bylaw.  Proposal will be voted on next month.  Dates for Kid glove games will be given next month.  We reserved 300 tickets.  U7/U8 goals will be ordered by Paul.  Tractor and John Deer both need new tires.  Bylaw proposal to have a VP of Fundraisers was approved 15/0.   Bylaw addition proposal of Bylaw F9;  A manager/coach will be responsible of putting up and taking down equipment or face a 2 week suspension/forfeit coaching position; was declined 0/4/1.

PROPOSED BYLAW ADDITION: K. Fees 2.  All fees will be due by the deadline set or a late fee, determined annually, will be added for existing players”. 

PROPOSED BYLAW CHANGE: A. Election of Officers 7.  VP Of Fundraising – would take care of all WJAA sanctioned WJAA Fundraisers.  Will bring to meetings any ideals to be voted on.  Events would include but not limited to Haunted Woods and helping with Tournaments / Kids Day.

Also change:  A. Election of Officers 1.  Election of officers will be held in October of each year.  Positions will be:  President, Executive Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Fundraising…Vice President of Concession & the Vice Presidents in charge of Baseball, Softball, Soccer, Basketball, & Cheerleaders.

New Business:  Tracy will do sales for kid’s day tickets.  Addition to bylaw to update” In order to vote for any board member(s), you must have attended at least 4 official WJAA monthly meetings from Nov-Oct. of the election year “and to change month to vote to October were already voted on but never changed in the bylaws.  Bylaw committee will be formed by Tracy.  Tracy will give each VP there section to review.  They need to review them and give any changed to Tracy.  Proposal on duties should be spelled out.  Proposal will be voted on next month.  Tracy will put softball form on website for Mike Poole.  Proposal to raise umpire fees to $15 for baseball/tee ball and get rid of field umps for D Instructional was approved.  Landscaping & lawn care will be handled by Tracy for proposals.  Current Company will be $406.25 a month for 12 months.  Price per cut is $195.00.  Will vote on in February.

Next meeting was scheduled for February 28, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. at Church.
