WJAA November Meeting Minutes February 28, 2006 Attendance: Jim Jermer, Mike Pope, Tracy Coffey, Tom Fishback, Paul Keith, Angie Walls, Travis Fisher, Scott Royer, Troy Brewer, Trevor Foster, Dan McKibbon, Bob Crider, Jack Tibbs, Adam Bailey Open Meeting @ 7:31 p.m. Motion to accept by Jim Jermer, 2nd by Mike Pope Secretary report: January minutes read. Motion to accept by Paul Keith, 2nd by Tom Fishback Treasurer’s report: Balance at January 21 of (Please see Paul for $$). Ending balance of (Please see Paul for $$). 14 payments left on Tractor. Treasurers Report accepted by Jim Jermer, 2nd by Mike Pope. Committee reports: Softball: Mike Poole and Jeff Halcomb are the field managers. The U12 Team wants to become a U11, but they have 4 girls that can’t play down. If they don’t play down they will have some players having to play up 2 years. Will discuss with Mike Poole and decide what has to be done. U7/U8 might need pitching machines. The coaches meeting will be April 4 from 6-9 at Bethel. Soccer: Not sure how teams will be formed yet. Looking into maybe changing leagues. If we change leagues the games will be further west. There are only 4 or 5 teams left to play against in the CCSA league. Tracy will have someone come out after the March meeting to talk to coaches about new league. Baseball: Kid Glove games are May 10, 22, & 23. All games will be at 7:10. We have 100 tickets for each game. Tickets will be $8 each. D Inst. can have a spring loaded machine to pitch is the we want to. We need to buy a few machines if we decide to use them. Travis Fisher will look into the cost. Games start April 28th. Rosters need to be in by April 1st. Motion to purchase pitching machines up $800 was accepted by Paul Keith and 2nd by Jim Jermer Basketball: Final Tournaments are March 11th and 12th. Mr. Weir said it will cost $20 per hour for Sunday. No charge for Saturday. Someone needs to call Saturday night if we don’t need Sunday and we won’t be charged. Hillsboro wants to sell t-shirts at tournaments. We will get a profit if they do. Concession: Water lines weren’t blown out. Now the water lines are busted. Some ripped are ripped out of wall. The main line coming in is under the concrete floor and they don’t know if it can be fixed. Tom got two bids to get the pipes fixed and has another person coming out to look. Lowell said he would fix it if he has time. Concession needs to open the beginning of April for games. We need to get the work started in the next two weeks. The fist quote is for $1500 from At your services Alan's Plumbing and the second is for $2500 from Chris Baker Plumbing. If the concrete floor pipe needs to be fixed it will add a couple thousands more. Motion to do plumbing with a maximum of $2500 and was accepted by Tracy and 2nd by Travis Fisher Old Business: David Hollins will be head of Haunted Woods. He will put a committee together by May Meeting. The date for the $10 late fee deadline was February 11th. Any players not paid by then will owe $10 extra. Goals will be purchased by Paul for the U7/U8 field. Tractors were serviced. Jim Jermer got a dead bolt for Barn. WJAA purchased mini blinds for the Old High School Gym. New Business: Kids Day will we June 17 and will be held by the D Instructional team. The theme this year is “Favorite Sports Team”. Tracy has a list of coaches and will do the concession/field schedules. Can Start practices for Softball/Baseball in March. Landscaping proposals were Blue Creek for $195 per cut, Quality First for $265 per cut. Blue Creek was selected. Picture date for Softball/Baseball will be the 2nd week in May. Tracy will make up a sheet for times. We will be using Bob Sims Photography again. Field cleanup date is 3/25 at 9:00. All coaches for baseball/softball should be there. The wood is at the field to make new benches. Need someone to take down old ones and build the new ones. Home plate on one of the fields has concrete where it was set and needs to be fixed. Southern Ohio Sanitation will be the same as last year and we will get extra for Kids Day. They will be cleaned every Friday. Fist aid kits will be supplies at the concession. There will be one purchased for the shed if needed during practice. Ice packs are also available at the concession and Tom will put some in the shed. Gravel in the handicap parking and other areas will be looked at during clean up. We discuss what is needed at the next meeting. We need to find out if the Diesel tank for the Tractor can be used. Tracy will get with Paul. Jim will look into a lock for the tank. Lock on the barn with the tractor needs to have a different lock. The only people that should have a key is the President, Vice President, and the field Manages. We need to set up a list of rules for the coaches and hand out. We discussed starting Pee-Wee Football, Wrestling, and spring soccer. Adam Bailey will get with Ron and form a committee for football. Scott will check with Mr. Isaac about Wrestling. Tracy will call for quotes on Insurance for these sports. We new metal panels for the roofs of the barns. Tracy will get quotes. The bylaw updates were read and will be voted on next month.
